Born in Munich, Germany of Russian heritage, Tatiana R.
Giametti graduated with Bachelor of Science in Art Education from New York
University. She also studied at the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts and the
Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center.
"Although I have worked on a larger scale in the
past, mostly abstract paintings in oils and acrylics, I also am moved by certain
images, such as the interaction of figures, light, and water in sequential
impressions. Oil pastels allow me to capture an image or moment with a sense of
immediacy almost like snapshots. I enjoy the richness and texture of oil
pastels. Even though these works have an identifiable subject matter, I see them
abstractly."
